Career Description




The individual will work as a team member in an infirmary/clinic setting and within the Medical Program. The position requires a holistic approach to health care service with emphasis on health maintenance through patient education and positive self-initiative. Specific duties include but are not limited to: provision of health care nursing to the resident population; dispensing medication; emergency nursing care; participation in behavioral management procedures and infection control; thorough documentation of patient care and medical records; and individual, group and wellness education. The position work schedule is rotating shifts in a 40-hour work week within a facility that is open 24/7, this includes various shifts, which may include nights.

Minimum Qualifications

RN must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the ND Board of Nursing. Requires interpersonal skills and communication skills necessary to perform job duties and must have ability to work with an inmate population on a daily basis. Strong clinical skills required. Psychiatric, medical surgical, and critical care background preferred, but not necessary. Individual must be flexible and innovative in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Must successfully complete standard background and criminal record check and drug screening.LPN requires current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the North Dakota Board of Nursing or licensure in another state and meet the eligibility requirements for licensure in North Dakota. North Dakota licensure is a condition of employment and the employing agency will verify and document licensure upon appointment. Starting salary for a LPN is $4795.00 per month. RN starts at $5328 per month.

This position will oversee the Eligibility Unit of the Three Rivers Human Service Zone (TRHSZ) and is responsible for the direct supervision of three (3) and indirect supervison of 21 employees. The three employees who are directly supervised provide program supervision to eligibility workers in the administration of ecomomic assistance programs for residents of the TRHSZ.This position provides direct supervision, training, and personnel management to assigned program staff; supervise the administration of the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Medicaid, Affordable Care Act (ACA), Healthy Steps, and Child Care Assistance Program at the zone level, and serve as technical expert to assigned; administer the General Assistance Program; adminster General Assistance estate recovery activities; conduct case reviews, maintain SNAP Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card inventory; complete required reports for the North Dakota Department of Human Services; respond to state and federal audits/reviews; provide information to the public, hear client grievances, and represent the agency at appeal hearings; prepare and report program activity to the Three Rivers Human Service Zone Board; participate in local and state sponsored meetings and training; and assist the agency director as needed. This position requires the use of computers in day-to-day activities.This position will also participate in the recruitment and selection of staff, including drafting Position Information Questionnaires, writing job opening descriptions, interviewing applicants, provide and coordinate new staff orientation, development, and training and and draft corrective action plans as needed. In addition, this position will evaluate and document employee performance, conduct annual written employee performance evaluations and provide recommendations to agency director regarding employee discipline and/or termination.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in any of the fields listed below AND one (1) year of work experience administering economic assistance programs in a social service office, ORA Bachelor's Degree with a major in business administration, human resource management, management, psychology, public administration, social work, or sociology, AND two (2) years experience administering economic assistance programs in a social service office; OR An Associates Degree in human services or business administration AND three (3) years work experience administering economic assistance programs in a social service office, of which one year must be at a supervisory level. Additional years of related experience and supervisory experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
