Manage Construction Projects Monitor contractor operations to assure project is built according to the plans and specs. Monitor project paperwork such as labor compliance, environmental commitments, EEO requirements, etc. to assure Contractor compliance. Supervise materials sampling/testing and construction surveying on the project. Review and finalize project payments and paperwork. Communicate effectively with contractors. Measure and document contractor pay items. Document construction project work and monitor project schedule. Construction Survey and Materials Testing for Aggregate, Concrete, Soils, and Hot Bituminous Pavement Test materials on construction projects such as concrete, aggregates, soils and hot bituminous pavements. Perform construction survey staking including slope stakes, blue tops, right of way, and earthwork topo. Survey and calculate quantity measurements such as earthwork volumes. Miscellaneous Duties such as Preliminary Surveys, Bridge Deck Evaluations, Attend Training Lead or work on preliminary survey crew. Conduct bridge deck evaluations. As a Temporary Maintenance Technician, you will perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance. You will complete highway maintenance duties, which include roadway repairs, assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails. To complete these tasks and others assigned, you will operate power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance duties. Part of this job is to keep the roadways clear of any hazards, this includes litter, waste, debris, garbage. Assisting with traffic control setup and flagging will also be required.You will also be required to complete building and ground maintenance duties, such as tree trimming, mowing, painting, fence repair, gutter/downspout cleaning. As well as assisting with inventory tracking/storage. You will also perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment, parts runs, and assisting in the shop.An important part of this position and the culture at the NDDOT is to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your coworkers, and others.

The Water Resource Manager will report to the Southwest Pipeline Project Manager and is a member of the Southwest Pipeline Project Section of the Water Development Division.The Water Resource Manager is responsible for representing the department in the field and overseeing the field work of a state-owned regional water system in North Dakota - the Southwest Pipeline Project (SWPP). This includes working with contractors, engineering consultants, landowners and governmental entities as well as responding to issues that arise during construction. The SWPP covers regions within 12 counties south and west of the Missouri River and serves over 56,000 people, including 33 communities. The SWPP has been under construction since 1986. Types of SWPP projects include the construction of pipeline projects and construction of major drinking water facilities such as a water treatment plant, reservoirs, and pump stations. Regular travel to work sites is expected during construction season and anytime that a construction project is active.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires five (5) years of construction experience, or three (3) years of construction experience and an Associate's degree in a related field, or one (1) year of construction experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.Must possess clear and effective oral and written communication skills. Valid ND Drivers License and ability to travel in a company furnished vehicle to construction sites.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a construction related field.Construction experience to include drinking water projects. Experience with acquiring property or easements to facilitate construction projects. The historical interpreter will execute their responsibilities with a positive attitude, neat appearance, and friendly and pleasant demeanor toward all visitors at the state historic site. The successful applicant will:Actively listen to visitors, answer their questions, welcome and orient them, lead hands-on activities, assist with special events, and participate in roving and stationed interpretation. Interpret site history enjoyably and accurately, making good use of research, training, and appropriate language and hands-on skills.Familiarize visitors with the State Historical Society mission and its other state historic sites.Assess and provide for visitors' special needs, such as appropriate services for the elderly, handicapped, and foreign visitors.Provide excellent customer service.Clean and tidy facilities including work areas, public areas, and bathrooms. Perform other light maintenance tasks which might include watering and weeding garden spaces, dusting, emptying trash receptacles, and painting.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to communicate with groups and individuals of diverse ages, interests, and perspectives, using appropriate language and hands-on skills.Ability to learn site history.Ability to work flexible work hours and weekends.Ability to accurately complete required forms such as timesheets, till counts, reservations, etc.Self-motivation.Must be at least 16 years old.All applicants are responsible for their own housing.
