Positions in this class provide case management, crisis intervention and group therapeutic counseling services to individuals, families, and clients at state hospitals, institutions, clinics, group or nursing homes, human service centers, and related facilities. Requires a bachelor's degree in social work, counseling (including addiction counseling), or a psychology-related field and two years of counseling or behavioral health experience; or a master's degree in one of the listed fields. DOCR experience may count towards the two-year experience requirement.Preference will be given to applicants that are licensed in the required disciplines listed above or have a masters in any of the listed degrees. The position will supervise and support adult males in custody in a correctional facility classroom at the James River Correctional Center, which is a medium security facility. This position is a 40 hour per week, year-round position.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of educational programming, good communication skills, ability to work effectively with adults in custody on a daily basis, and ability to function well as a team member. Must be able to successfully complete an interview, standard background and criminal record check. A bachelor's degree in a teaching field and a North Dakota Teaching Certificate are preferred.

The DOCR is seeking a Full Time Temp Instructor to join our education team and support programming within the James River Correctional Center. This position includes 100% employer paid family state health insurance. This position will be required to work 40 hours per week. A teaching license is required, although applicants pursuing a teaching license or have a substitute license are encouraged to apply as well. If the individual selected for this position is licensed, salary will be determined by the salary schedule.
