Coordinate, Plan and Budget District Maintenance ProgramIdentify and prioritize maintenance activities.Provide input to district administration in analyzing the budget to determine priorities of available funds.Plan patching activities to take full advantage of contractor's hot plant operations in the district.Determine stockpile requirements.Provide input in determining district maintenance program and equipment needs.Work with shop and sign shop when needed to ensure continuity in district operations.Supervision and Training of District Maintenance PersonnelProvide training for maintenance personnel including hands on training.Conduct annual performance reviews of section supervisors and review reviews of all equipment operators.Monitor work performance and recommend appropriate personnel action and changes.Assure time sheets and other reports are completed properly and on time.Ensure maintenance staff comply with NDDOT and District policies and procedures.Review Work Activities and Work Schedules of District Maintenance PersonnelReview daily work activities of section supervisors and maintenance crews.Inspect roadways and recommend maintenance including guardrail and sign maintenance.Dispatch crews and equipment during emergencies.Evaluate maintenance activities to ensure compliance with goals and objectives.Maintain effective working relationship with department personnel, public and contractors.Supervise major snow and ice control operations.Respond to emergencies, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Administrative DutiesMonitor safety violations and take appropriate action.Hold safety meetings and perform safety inspections.Assure safety guidelines and preventive maintenance is followed.Assist with handling public complaints and concerns.Manage Temporary Water Permits.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an associate degree in engineering technology and five years of highway experience; two years of the experience must have included supervision duties.Work experience performing highway maintenance activities may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.Requires work after hours, on weekends, and holidays during emergency events. Will be at times required to report to work within 30 minutes during emergency or storm situations.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check and driving records check.

Aircraft Commander Act as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command to provide aerial transportation for state employees, conduct aerial photography and mapping.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a commercial pilot's certificate with an instrument rating, single-engine land rating, multiengine land rating, and high-altitude endorsement. Minimum of 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate. Four years of flight experience with minimum of {1200 hours fixed-wing total flight time, of which 1000 hours are as pilot-in-command, 500 hours cross-country time, 250 hours fixed-wing turbine time, 100 hours multiengine airplane time which must be in non-centerline-thrust aircraft and 75 actual or simulated instrument flight hours, 50 of which must have been in actual flight} OR {BE200 trained and checked by an approved facility within the last four years.} Work after hours, weekends, and holidays may be required. Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.Preference will be given to applicants with experience in: Multiengine Airline Transport Certificate. King Air flight time. 250 Hours multiengine turboprop flight experience within previous five years Civilian flight experience within previous 5 years Maintenance training and/or maintenance experience. FAR Part 91/121/135 crew resource management experience.Applicants will only be considered for PIC if they have attended an approved King Air simulator school within the previous 12 months, are approved for consideration by the Chief Pilot and are approved for PIC duties by aviation insurance underwriter.Candidates' qualifications will be subject to review by Chief Pilot and aviation insurance underwriter.
