Career Description




This position is located at the Fargo Air National Guard within the Civil Engineering Department. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Ability to create and update ArcGIS maps and AutoCAD drawings. Assist the Real Property Manager with facility inventories/inspections. Ability to inspect and construct facility folders and associated Real Property documentation. Ability to review and interpret construction design drawings and specifications. Perform construction inspection activities; complete daily construction reports, ensure work meets specifications, measure and record quantities. Perform simple preliminary survey activities using current technology practices. Ability to keep accurate survey notes and records. Must possess the ability to work independently or with other facilities maintenance staff. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires two years of work experience in Construction Management, Construction Inspection, Drafting or Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping. A degree in GIS, Engineering Technology or other related field to the duties to be performed may substitute for the work experience requirement. College level coursework may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. ESRI software and Autodesk experience is preferred. Successful completion of the interview process, reference checks and background investigation are required.

The incumbent for this position will be asked to provide a wide variety of manual labor and semiskilled work associated with the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. The duties include, but are not limited to the following:Perform grounds maintenance duties to include mowing grass, trimming hedges, bushes and trees, snow removal, fixing settled gravesites and sunken headstones.Must be able to lift up to 250 pounds in a team lift effort to set and realign headstones as needed for consistency and accuracy.Ability to perform building and equipment maintenance such as rough masonry, plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical repairs, etc; perform custodial duties as needed, change out light bulbs and install lights, fans and other installation needs such as faucet repair, water cooler repair, etc.Perform maintenance work equipment such as mowers, tractors, weed eaters, snow blowers, and heavy equipment such as a back hoe and excavator.Must be able to assist with trouble shooting issues with the irrigation system.Must help maintain log of fire extinguisher service due dates, check all fire extinguishers monthly for proper operation, routine checks of maintenance of building emergency lights and exit signs.Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling and working at different height levels.Ability to operate heavy equipment to dig square graves at proper depth and width.Have the ability to work in all types of weather conditions.Requires a high degree of written and/or verbal communication skills in dealing with other employees, clients or the general public.Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED and two years of work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties in one or more of the trades areas. Vocational or technical education in a field comparable to the position's primary responsibility may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement. This position will perform housekeeping duties for the Lodging department at the Camp Grafton Training Center in Devils Lake, ND. Duties include providing consistent housekeeping services for a chargeable lodging/housing unit, but are not limited to the following:Perform various cleaning duties in all guest and common areas. Perform a deep cleaning such as: clean and polish furniture, fixtures and other furnishings, move furniture, shampoo carpets, wash windows, walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other required cleaning as needed. Ability to maneuver carpet cleaning machine filled with chemicals weighing up to 200 lbs.Maintain and restock inventory of supplies in multiple lodging locations across Camp Grafton.Observe all safety practices and report all injuries and accidents to the immediate supervisor.Notify supervisor of repairs to buildings, equipment and grounds.Provide security to units by checking for open windows, locking and unlocking of doors as required, maintain strict key control, and report any suspicious activity.In the absence of the Housekeeping Supervisor, may function as the lead custodian to include analyze daily cleaning priorities on lodging computer system, training of new temporary custodial employees in their duties, and notify the immediate supervisor of any changes.Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing and crouching with requirements to bend, stoop and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions for long periods of time.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Valid drivers license is required.Interpersonal communication skills required. Provide assistance and courtesy as need to the guests and staff.Flexible scheduling and ability to work some weekends as needed.Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

This position is located within the headquarters section at the Camp Grafton Training Center (CGTC) in Devils Lake, ND. The incumbent will support the environmental needs of the Training Center and act as a liaison between the Camp Grafton Training Center (CGTC) and the Environmental Office in Bismarck, ND as well as between state and federal regulatory agencies. This position will be responsible for implementing a variety of environmental programs at the CGTC to include performing some physical tasks. Some in-state and out-of-state travel will be required. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:Implement and manage environmental programs to include, but not limited to Air Quality, Water Quality, Waste Management, Petroleum Storage Tank Management, Cultural Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, Native American Consultation, and Geographical Information Systems.Management and administrative actions to include the indirect supervision of personnel and contractors, develop and manage projects and perform work on committees. Advise the Training Center Manager and their staff on environmental issues.Support National Guard training through the administration of the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program.Ability to become a certified pesticide applicator.Physical labor to include, but not limited to, performing pesticide applications, fencing, operation of power farm equipment for seeding, mulching, tilling, and other various earthwork projects, and operation of hand tools and small power tools such as hammers, saws, chain saws and earth augers for various projects.Ability to bend, stoop, work at various heights and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office software.Valid driver's license is required.Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in a natural or physical science and three years of professional level work experience related to the duties of the position, Or, an associate degree in a physical science and seven years of professional level work experience related to the duties of the position, Or, a high school diploma and twelve years of professional level work experience related to the duties of the position.
