The Office of State Tax Commissioner is currently recruiting for a Corporate Income Tax Auditor. As a Corporate Income Tax Auditor you will implement audit processes and be responsible for all aspects of corporate income tax audits to ensure taxpayers are in compliance with tax laws. This includes selecting audits, planning and directing audit processes, coordinating audit information requests, as well as conducting and reporting audits with efficiency. You will also assist and guide other staff members with audit processes, provide assistance and information to taxpayers as needed, and prepare and assist in audit conferences and settlement negotiations. Duties include:Conducts audits of corporate income tax returns, including the review of financial accounting and tax records of corporations.Prepares comprehensive written audit reports of audit findings and substantiating evidence supporting the findings.Investigates corporations to determine if a North Dakota filing requirement exists and if they are compliant.Provides taxpayer assistance for requests, inquiries, and general information.Assist in training auditors, conducting audit selection, and special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

This position may be filled at the Auditor I or Auditor II level, depending on experience. Auditor I requires a bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Statistics, Economics or other related area with coursework in accounting. Auditor II requires a bachelors degree as listed above and two years of auditing or corporate income tax experience.
