As a Licensing Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical information in response to diverse inquiries regarding motor vehicle registration, titling, tax, leases, policies, and motor carrier programs from external or internal customers in person, over the telephone, by fax, email, or mail.The successful candidate must be able to multitask and make on-the-spot decisions while customers are waiting in line or on the phone and have the ability to provide technical assistance and/or information on the interpretation of statutes, rules, policies, and procedures to co-workers including employees of the contracted branch offices and to the public.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED.Requires three years of work experience performing a variety of complex administrative support or customer service duties.Related college-level course work may be substituted for up to two years of the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.Must possess excellent phone customer service skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in normal and stressful conditions to avoid confusion and misunderstanding with others.Must be able to remain calm and composed when dealing with distraught or angry people - daily contact with the publicRequires satisfactory completion of the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment. Employment is contingent upon the results of a criminal background check.
