This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mechanics and operations of a diverse fleet and equipment. You will be responsible for various maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring the smooth functioning of our vehicles and equipment.Key Responsibilities include servicing vehicles by checking, maintaining, or replacing fluids; lubricating bearings, u-joints, etc.; and performing other tasks to maintain light and heavy-duty equipment, maintaining and replacing batteries, belts, wiper blades, lights, filters, spark plugs, hoses, etc., repairing, replacing, and balancing tires, picking up and delivering parts for the maintenance shop, completing required records and reports, performing custodial duties by maintaining the service area, building, and grounds, performing minor tune-ups and repairing air brake and hydraulic systems.Why Work With UsAt the NDDOT, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborate with experienced professionals in the fleet and equipment maintenance industry, and be given opportunities for professional development and training.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED Must be enrolled in an automotive or diesel mechanic program or related field Requires ability to lift and carry a total weight of up to 50 pounds. Possession of a valid Class D Drivers License for travel within the state of North Dakota.Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.
