Career Description




This position is located within the headquarters section at the Camp Grafton Training Center (CGTC) in Devils Lake, ND. The incumbent will support the environmental needs of the Training Center and act as a liaison between the Camp Grafton Training Center (CGTC) and the Environmental Office in Bismarck, ND as well as between state and federal regulatory agencies. This position will be responsible for implementing a variety of environmental programs at the CGTC to include performing some physical tasks. Some in-state and out-of-state travel will be required. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:Implement and manage environmental programs to include, but not limited to Air Quality, Water Quality, Waste Management, Petroleum Storage Tank Management, Cultural Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, Native American Consultation, and Geographical Information Systems.Management and administrative actions to include the indirect supervision of personnel and contractors, develop and manage projects and perform work on committees. Advise the Training Center Manager and their staff on environmental issues.Support National Guard training through the administration of the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program.Ability to become a certified pesticide applicator.Physical labor to include, but not limited to, performing pesticide applications, fencing, operation of power farm equipment for seeding, mulching, tilling, and other various earthwork projects, and operation of hand tools and small power tools such as hammers, saws, chain saws and earth augers for various projects.Ability to bend, stoop, work at various heights and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office software.Valid driver's license is required.Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in a natural or physical science and three years of professional level work experience related to the duties of the position, Or, an associate degree in a physical science and seven years of professional level work experience related to the duties of the position, Or, a high school diploma and twelve years of professional level work experience related to the duties of the position. Successful completion of interview process, background investigation and reference checks.
