Career Description




Needed to assist with the growth in ND and the dealer services area. The Motor Vehicle Division is responsible for the registration and titling of all vehicles as well as the collection of fees and taxes as required by law. The division is responsible for maintaining records of all registered vehicles for use of law enforcement agencies and others with a need to access these records. The division is also responsible for protection of the public by licensing and regulating vehicle dealers and by identifying proof of ownership through a title issuance process. MV Fraud & Compliance InvestigationMaintain expert knowledge level of North Dakota Century Code Chapters 39 and 57, inspect on-site applicants when initial application, resolve complaints and, regularly brief Manager related to ongoing investigations and provide recommendations, and prepare information regarding specific cases and present to section Manager.Dealer Visits, Communications, & RelationsHandle difficult or agitated customers, communicate with dealers on regular basis, work with division employees to identify dealer problems and serve as liaison between dealers and division to correct identified problems, participate in state, national, and possibly international groups, compose various letters, memorandums, and notifications for Manager and Division Director. Travel required. Administrative dutiesReview, research, and monitor changes to current procedures or policies, maintain compliance and dealer reports for use by Division Director and section manager, research motor vehicle laws and assist in writing of new legislation, participate in interviewing possible candidates and selection of temporaries, assist in designing and writing new motor vehicle, compliance, and dealer related administrative procedures, represent division at public meetings and serve on special committees or groups formed to enhance consumer protection and awareness, and provide assistance throughout division as neededDealer TrainingDevelop, compile, and prepare training materials.Backup for review dealer license renewalsAssist in reviewing license renewal applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires six years of progressively responsible work experience; two years must include work experience in law enforcement or fraud and compliance investigations.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.
